Commissioner, Nidhi Pandey, IIS
Dear Students, Teachers, and Parents,
On the momentous occasion of Foundation Day 2024 of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), I extend my heartfelt greetings to each one of you. From its humble beginnings in 1963, KVS has grown into an inspiring institution of excellence in school education. This remarkable journey continues to evolve, driven by an unwavering spirit of innovation and progress.

Y ARUN KUMAR
Deputy Commissioner
Dear students, staff, Principals and I/C Principals of all KVs of Kolkata Region, As the new dawn of this day heralds the beginning of a brand new academic session 2024-25, I would like to congratulate all of you for everything you have done and achieved during the last academic session 2023-24. The last couple of years have been very challenging for all of us, especially for teachers and educators dealing with educating and guiding young learners. But all of you, with your concerted efforts and dedication, have been able to shape the young minds of the students in a very positive way, often holding their hands virtually to achieve desired goals. All of you definitely need to be congratulated. Students adopted very fast to the changing times brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, while teachers and principals burnt the midnight oil to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the students by adopting to technology as fast as they could. We pushed our self-set boundaries and took seamlessly to virtual meetings, virtual classroom inspections, virtual co-curricular activities and much more. As we look back down the memory lane, we all should feel proud of all that we have achieved during the most challenging times that this era has seen. But let us not rest on our laurels. As Jonas Salk says, “The reward for a work well done is the opportunity to do more”, let us not forget that the ensuing academic session 2024-25 will again pose different challenges as we shift back to our pre-pandemic days and move into our classrooms for teaching-learning. Students need to be slowly allowed to readjust to these changing times through love, compassion and care. Let us understand that this academic session will probably be more challenging for all of us. I am very sure that, with your dedication and passion, all of you can contribute in more positive ways and help the young learners adapt seamless to the changing times. With faith and conviction that together we can, and we will, positively contribute to the great task of Nation Building. Wishing you all the best for the Academic Session 2024-25.

It gives me immense pleasure and delight as Principal of PM SHRI K V CMERI, Durgapur, to welcome you to the official school website. This website has been developed to impart timely and valuable information to parents, students and visitors to the website at large as well as to provide you with updated school news, schedules and events. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan sets a high Standard of education for children keeping in view the true index of cultural level of country. In a sense it is a matter of national prestige. We encourage our students to develop a lifelong lesson of learning and a willingness to be responsible for themselves and their environment. School is the most important part of students’ life as it enables the transition from childhood to adulthood therefore our endeavour is to offer children every opportunity for self-development so that they will build their skills as well as their confidence. Our aim is to help them emerge as a mature and responsible citizen. In this constantly ever changing society, the young minds are pitted with drastic changes in their environment. In these formative years they need a genial, tranquil and natural learning environment. With the ever increasing demand of competitions, fast changing values, pressure of challenging career and increasing love for materialistic life, it has become difficult for the individuals to maintain its prime values intact. Esteemed Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan works with the mission to imbibe values of love, culture, universal brotherhood and knowledge through education that enables them to adjust and adapt to the emerging society of multicultural thoughts, beliefs and religions. It fosters them with the courage that kindles optimism and the willpower not to give in during adversities. The PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, CMERI Durgapur’s Website is a unique platform to showcase the literary and creative pursuits of its family members. This is not just a means for us to communicate our thoughts but it also highlights the success and achievements of our pursuits. It gives an insight to ones thought and creativity through varied expressions. Our students have been able to leave their imprint in the path they have walked till now and the Vidyalaya has carved a niche of its own in the educational hub. BIPLAB SARKAR Principal
